Description changed:
The RI Furs shall once again be participating in the ALS Association's RI Chapter's "Walk to Defeat ALS" to raise money in memory of Tony "Dogbomb" Barrett. If you don't know, Dogbomb was a furry from California who passed away in April 2019 after a year-long well-publicized battle with ALS.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the event has been announced as a Virtual Walk. They encourage you being active and walking at home, around the neighborhood, at a park or stream yourself walking online. ("Walk Your Way!")
Despite the event having been announced as a Virtual Walk, they have recently announced a Tribute Walk to take place on Sunday, September 12, at Rocky Point Park in Warwick. Details will come soon. If it is possible, we may able to bring a small chosen group of furries to appear with our fursuiters.
We can collect donations! A team donation page has been set up. If you intend to participate, you must register as a member of the team. After that, you can hit up your friends and family to raise money under your name. We are hoping to get furries from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut to donate, so please spread the word on social media. The current fundraising goal is $500 with the chance to raise it higher.
