Good evening everyone!
We have some fantastic news!
The next meet date is officially the 20th November 2021! The meet will start at 12pm and end at 7pm. If you’d like to meet at the bronze bull statue outside the Bullring, please do! There will be at least one member of staff there to meet you.
Alternatively, you can go for breakfast first and meet us at the bar later! (We recommend the Dragon inn, just up the road from the bar!) or alternatively, you can start the queue early opposite the bar as usual with Ryn, who promises to shout only a little 😉
We are aware that it is short notice and we apologise for that, a lot of moving pieces go into organising a meet this size.
From now on, unless we state otherwise, meets will be returning for the 3rd Saturday of every month (Confuzzled and Birmingham comic con months will have no meet).
We also wanted to let you know that for the first few meets we will not have a suiting lounge and full fursuits will not be allowed. We will however allow partial fursuiting. We want to make sure everyone is safe and feels comfortable so the extra seating and space will be important. We will also not be having a dedicated artist alley area for a few meets either. Please be aware of this.
We will be looking for proof of double vaccination (or proof of exemption from a doctor) OR a negative lateral flow test (that has been completed within the previous 24 hours from the time of your arrival at the meet). If you do not have these, you will not be allowed in the venue and be asked to leave. There are no exceptions. While it is not legally mandated to wear a mask, if you would like to wear one, you are of course welcome to.
ID is still going to be checked by door staff and they will ask you to remove your mask temporarily if you are wearing one. As usual, no ID, no entry. Bag searches on the door will also be in action due to ongoing spiking issues in the city.
You must be 16 years old or older to attend the meet. We do allow children to attend the walk if joined by a legal guardian or parent but due to having no walk for a while, this will not be permitted for the time being. Those under 18 must leave the bar by 7pm.
The situation regarding food at the venue will be updated closer to the day.
Harassment to people who wear masks, have the vaccine, the staff or the venue for these rules will result in an immediate ban. We also kindly ask that you refresh your memories of the rules and code of conduct for the meet.
Thank you for understanding the stricter rules for the first few meets, it's been tough for everyone and we genuinely are very excited to see you all. When we are able to relax the rules a bit, we will do so and let you guys know.
Finally, we want to welcome the three new members of staff to the team!
Rufe, Blaze Shepsky and Jason! We welcome them to their respective roles and look forward to working with them in the future! We also want to wish our beloved Popper, who is moving away and therefore stepping down as a team member. We love you bean and wish you the best of luck in your new endeavours!
Lastly, we want to thank you attendees for being so patient during this last year and a half. You’ve all been very generous in contributing to the Brumfurs YCH artwork. Every penny will help us replace our old kit and help fund the summer party in the park. We are hoping to bring you some new merch soon to help support the meet. Of course, you do not have to pay anything to support the meets if you can’t, or simply don’t want to, we appreciate every one of you and your continued support of our meets.
