To accompany the 100th Furbowl, there are plans to have a group photoshoot for the RI Furs on the morning of Halloween. The purpose for this is to create profile pictures to be used for Facebook, Twitter, FurAffinity, etc. We are encouraging to get as many people as possible for this, so we want EVERYONE to try to be there.
The time will be the morning of Sunday, October 31 at 11 a.m. We expect people to be late, so the pictures will likely be taken closer to noon. The reason for the early time is to not conflict with any Halloween plans people may have later that day or at night.
The location will be the Providence River pedestrian bridge in Downtown Providence. If you need an address, the closest address is 334 South Water Street. This location will give us a background shot of the Providence city skyline. Parking on the street in Providence on Sundays is free and you would have to be parking on South Water Street for the closest access.
Fursuits are certainly encouraged for the photos. There are no head-covering mask laws in Providence. There should be room on the bridge to change up, but if you'd feel more comfortable, you may change at your car and walk to the site.
The current plan is to spend at least an hour or two to gather and take photos with the option of walking around the area afterwards. This is in a public space, so please be mindful of your behavior. Remember that private businesses have the right to reject people who try to enter their establishments while wearing something that hides their identity (e.g., fursuit heads), so don't be surprised if they don't let you in a store or restaurant.
REASONS THIS WORKS:
* Admission is FREE!
* Parking on the street is FREE!
* There's no mask law in Providence.
* You get to see everyone together.
* We're taking pictures!
* It's in the morning, so it shouldn't interfere with your Halloween plans.
* We can all get lunch together or hang out.
* It's Halloween, so people can expect seeing people walking around in costumes that day!
* Fursuiters!
* Did we mention it's FREE?
