Before I bring up the details of the next furbowl, there is something that needs to be addressed. At the last furbowl, there were concerns from some attendees about a few of the younger attendees wearing some rather revealing clothing. Please remember that the furbowl's venue is a family-friendly bowling alley, not a nightclub. Families have come down to our end of the alley to see our fursuiters, so please aware that your appearance affects their perception of us. I do not want to impose a formal dress code on my event, but I will say that if any attendee is wearing something that can be viewed as objectionable by general public standards, at my discretion, they will be asked to either change up, cover up or leave if they cannot comply.
We also noticed there were more younger people than usual, so I must also restate the first thing that appears in all RI Furs event announcements: Anyone under the age of 16 who is attending any RI Furs meet must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must stay in attendance at the meet at all times. Preferably, that young person should have a familial relationship with the attendee and be at least 18.
The next Rhode Island Furbowl will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 7 p.m. at East Providence Lanes at 80 Newport Avenue, East Providence, RI. (MAP IS HERE) The cost is $2 to attend plus $13 to bowl ($15 total).
Masks are optional when attending. If you would feel more comfortable by wearing a mask, you may do so. The situation with the coronavirus is still ongoing, so things could change.
The group photos will be taken at about 8:00 or 8:15.
There will also be a pre-furbowl park meet to take place at Slater Park in Pawtucket starting at 5 p.m., weather permitting. The meeting spot will be the parking lot of Daggett Farm.
